Artist / Label Agreement

ARTIST / LABEL AGREEMENT

(Applies to all artists and labels uploading music)

1. Rights Ownership & Warranties

You represent and warrant that:

You own or control all rights necessary to license the sound recording and underlying composition

The track is original, or fully cleared for sync use

No unlicensed samples, interpolations, or third-party rights are included

You indemnify Melody and brands against any breach.

2. Covers & Samples

Cover recordings may not be licensed for sync unless you have obtained explicit publisher sync clearance

Tracks containing samples or interpolations must be fully cleared prior to upload

Melody may block or remove such tracks.

3. Trademarks & Brand References

Tracks that reference registered trademarks, brand names, or recognisable products (e.g. global consumer brands such as Pepsi) may:

Be restricted from sync use

Require instrumental-only usage

Be excluded from certain campaigns

You must accurately declare such references during upload.

4. Restricted & Sensitive Industries

Artists and labels may control where their music is used. Restrictions may include:

Gambling

Alcohol

Tobacco / vaping

Politics

Religion

Adult or age-restricted products

Restrictions may be set at:

Account level

Track level

If no restrictions are set, tracks may be licensed broadly.

5. Minors & Guardian Consent

If an artist is under 18:

A legal guardian must approve the account

Guardian consent is required for licensing and payments

Payments may be routed to a guardian-controlled account

6. Licence Scope

Each licence grants:

Non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide sync rights

Use limited to one specific video creative rendered or uploaded via Melody

Rights apply only to the exact section of the track selected during licensing

Tracks may not be reused in other videos without a new licence.

7. Moral Rights

To the extent permitted by law, you waive moral rights solely as required to allow licensed sync usage under this agreement.

8. Payments

Revenue share: 75% to artist/label, 25% to Melody (gross)

Payments are released 90 days after funds clear via Stripe

Melody is not responsible for PPL, PRS, or other performance royalties

9. Termination

You may remove tracks at any time. Existing licences remain valid.
